BTS was on the WIRED video that released earlier last week and the internet is already breaking down the interview minute by minute. Let's take a look at some of the greatest times BTS broke the internet.
BTS Answer the Web's Most Searched Questions | WIRED
The crew most recently did the WIRED Autocomplete Interview and answered the internet's most searched questions about themselves. There have been thousands of tweets about each members' responses so far and the interview has only been out for 3 hours on Youtube.
BTS has a global fanbase and are so popular in the US that they have had multiple #1 songs and albums despite being a Kpop group. They constantly have songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and all of the music platforms you can name.
BTS (방탄소년단) 'Butter' @ Billboard Music Awards
BTS' newest EP features one of their most popular songs "Butter". The hit song has broken records by being #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a 9th week in 2021, beating out Olivia Rodrigo's "Drivers License". This Billboard Music Awards performance was largely talked about as it has over 57 million views on Youtube and the song has been a major Tik Tok trend since its release. The group also decided to create this song in English which was very different from their former hits.
Times Square BTS Advertising by ARMY
BTS broke the internet in 2020 when they performed at Times Square for New Year's Eve. The BTS Army, what fans of the band call themselves, are known to be insanely supportive of the group and this was one of those moments as fans banned together to buy billboard spots in Times Square.
The band did not even buy this advertisement for themselves as the graphics included birthday wishes and clips of former performances. Seeing a group of fans being this supportive is inspiring especially when you take into account that the members are not from the US and the support was definitely well-received.
Kim Taehyung Gets a Perm
KMEDIA fawns over KIM TAEHYUNG with cr@zy (but funny) new headlines for his articles today like Even his shadow is handsome, Curly hair that not anyone can pull off, He even looks good with poodle-like curly hair, and CPR-like smile for ARMY tired of Covid-19.pic.twitter.com/W9Nonsdq61— BTS V News (@BTS V News) 1621575361
When BTS stepped on the carpet for their press conference, one member Kim Taehyung sported a ginger-colored perm that truly broke South Korean media. There were over 500 articles written about the hair by major news outlets by the end of the week and thousands of tweets since have reflected on the hairstyle that reminded them of "an adorable poodle puppy", "Bob Ross", and "broccoli" just to name a few.
The BTS Meal | McDonald’s
BTS joined an elite group by creating their own McDonalds meal and being featured on major commercials and ads for over a month. The globally famous group combined with the globally famous company to sell-out thousands of meals around the world. The entire meal had food lovers and fans going crazy and McDonalds definitely gained some customers off of the deal alone, even if they are one of the biggest food chains in the world.

Jungkook is one of the seven members of BTS and he had an "unhealthy" obsession with the song "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish. The official BTS Twitter account posted a video of the performer dancing and jumping up and down to this song. This tweet eventually became the most retweeted tweet for all of 2019 while the band was the most tweeted about during that year as well.
Clearly BTS is full of talented and appreciative individuals that love their fanbase. We keep seeing the band making headlines and we can't wait to hear new music from the group. They've been hinting at releasing more music in English just like a couple of the songs from their latest EP and we could not be more excited.
BTS has been breaking the internet for years now and it is very funny to look back at all of the craziness and realize the history that we are constantly witnessing.
Whether you consider yourself part of the Army or not, BTS is not slowing down anytime soon and I for one am very excited to see where the band and solo albums go from here.
