Zendaya has added the prestigious honor of "TIME's Most Influential People" to her already extensive resume!
The "No Way Home" star has dominated both the big and small screens over the last year. In an interview with TIME, the former Disney star takes fans on a journey through her most memorable projects and events from the last year, including the premieres of Netflix's "Malcolm and Marie" and the star-studded film "Dune."
Marvel's "Spider-man: No Way Home" debuted in December 2021, earning the second biggest domestic opening ever, according to Deadline. In a short bio for the Emmy-winning actress penned by "Dune" director Denis Villeneuve, Villeneuve writes,
"She is an autonomous creative force herself. A cultural icon in the making. A person driven by pure inspiration, empathy, and respect for her craft, who uses authenticity as a new superpower."
Season 2 of HBO's "Euphoria" premiered just this year and captivated audiences each Sunday. The show also earned Zendaya an Emmy for "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series" in 2020. The win was historical, as she became the youngest Emmy winner of that category. In the interview, Zendaya details her role as producer on the hit show "Euphoria" and even credits her time on set to being the motivation behind her desire to get behind a camera.
"I am a producer on the show. I'm in such a collaborative space, I can learn, I can ask questions and I can give as much input as I want to, which I'm super grateful for."
Zendaya's career shows no signs of stopping. She is currently filming a new movie titled "Challengers," where she plays a successful tennis player named Tashi, who urges her husband to compete against his former best friend and her character's ex boyfriend in a tennis tournament.
