While still planned for August 30th, the MTV VMAs are making a major change to the format amid coronavirus concerns.

Shawn Mendes Performs "In My Blood" MTV VMAs
The original plan for performances during the iconic awards show was for all to take place in Barclays Center with no audience. This has since changed due to coronavirus guidelines in New York. Each performance will now be at a different locations spread across NYC.
In a statement, MTV stated that they will:
"Pay homage to the incredible resiliency of New York with several outdoor performances around the City with limited or no audience."
Keke Palmer is set to host this year's VMAs. Nominees include: Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Halsey, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Post Malone, BTS, Travis Scott, Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, and many more.
The 2020 Video Music Awards will take place on August 30th at 8 PM EST at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
