The Billboard Music Awards joins the list of award shows postponed due to the pandemic. While most are setting their eyes on 2021 dates of fully virtual ceremonies, the BBMAs is moving its original August 29th date to October 14th, 2020.
While fans will have to wait a few months longer for the fan-favorite ceremony, the good news comes in original host Kelly Clarkson remaining on board for the new date!
This will be Clarkson's third consecutive year hosting the BBMAs coming off her first Daytime Emmy win for her self titled talk show. Clarkson can also be seen as a coach on The Voice and filling in for Simon Cowell on America's Got Talent while he recovers from a back injury.
The @BBMAs are set for October 14, 2020 and I’ll be hosting for the third time! Mark your calendars and don’t forge… https://t.co/bOCGPghj7p— Kelly Clarkson (@Kelly Clarkson) 1597429093
Clarkson took to Twitter to get fans excited for the new date and her as host!
While other award shows like the Emmys are completely virtual and the VMAs will be hosting live socially-distanced performances outdoors, the details of the BBMA's remain unclear, but fans are excited to see Clarkson back in action and their favorite artists being recognized and (hopefully) performing!
Tune into the Billboard Music Awards October 14th on NBC.
