After months of being shut down due to the pandemic, several AMC theaters will be reopening on August 20th.

As almost 100 locations are set to reopen next week, AMC has come up with quite an idea for the opening day. For the first time since 1920, tickets will be sold for 15 cents.

AMC Entertainment was originally found in 1920 by the Dubinsky Brothers. 100 years later, AMC is going back to their roots and charging 15 cents for tickets. Although theaters will not be showing brand new films right away, fans can still expect to see some great movies on the screens. Some of these will include Black Panther, Inception, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Grease, and The Empire Strikes Back. Fans can also expect to see the release of Tenet on September 3rd.

AMC wants fans to know that safety precautions have been taken and there will be way more cleaning measures put in place. Audience members will all be required to wear masks in the theater, as well as all the employees. The company has also promised some perks for their customers, which includes $5 food and drink specials.

The first set of theaters to reopen will be located in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Las Vegas, and St. Louis.
