The producers of Unhinged aren't apologizing. Instead they are moving back its release date (again) as cases of Covid-19 continue to spike across the country.
The Russell Crowe action thriller was supposed to be among the first big Hollywood films released to movie theatres, since the lockdown. But now that's on hold.
Mulan delayed until (at least) August 21st

Most of the big multiplex chains had been timing their reopening for mid-July around planned releases like Mulan and Tenet...

...but both of those films, now also pushed back again.
Regal Cinemas closed until (at least) July 31st

Regal Cinemas had planned to reopen by July 10th with theater capacity reduced to 50% for social distancing and face-masks required for all guests.
AMC Theatres closed until (at least) July 30th

AMC also requiring face masks, a decision that came after much public backlash. The nation's largest chain planned to be back up and running by July 15th and promised reduced capacity, and other safety measures like disinfecting theaters each night.

At Cinemark, many of their theaters will reopen on July 24th, showing classic movies at discounted prices.
They had planned to have all of their facilities open by July 17th, in time for Sony's planned release of The Broken Hearts Gallery. Now both have been pushed back.
