'The Comey Rule'

The Showtime drama will be the one of the first TV shows to center on our current political climate. The TV miniseries stars Jeff Daniels as James Comey, Holly Hunter as Sally Yates, Michael Kelly as Andrew McCabe, Jennifer Ehle as Patrice Comey, Scoot McNairy as Rod Rosenstein, and Brendan Gleeson as Donald Trump. Showtime describes the show as:

Brendan Gleeson

Brendan Gleeson will be the first actor to play President Donald Trump in a non-comedic style. He will play the role less like Alec Baldwin on SNL and more like a villain. The Irish actor can be recognized from his roles in Braveheart, Harry Potter, and Paddington 2. While speaking about Gleeson to Vanity Fair, show creator Billy Ray shared:

""Here's a guy who's won plenty of awards. He's had a great career. He's sitting in Ireland, bothering nobody, This guy needs controversy like he needs a hole in the head. I mean, there's just no reason to invite the kind of grief that he's about to catch. And in fact, he actually turned the part down the first time we offered it to him for exactly that reason."

The Comey Rule premieres September 27th on Showtime.
