The "Rain on Me" star has done it again. The global icon is predicted to be nominated in each of the Big Four categories for her major collab with singer Ariana Grande and iconic album Chromatica. Her successful year in music and activist work lended her a spot on one of the world's largest magazine covers.
Gaga gets candid in her interview with Billboard revealing how the dark side of fame affected her mental health.
The star did not refrain from talking about the stigma surrounding mental health in the entertainment industry as she coped with internal battles everyday when making her latest album.
The star also spoke out about the racial injustices being exposed and the importance of keeping up the fight toward racial equality.
"When you're born in this country, we all drink the poison that is white supremacy. I am in the process of learning and unlearning things I've been taught my whole life. Social justice is not just a literacy, it's a lifestyle."
The star also speaks out against performative activism.
"Do I think there's such a thing as performative activism? Yes. Do I think there's been true activism that's been very important and needed? Yes. Do I believe Black lives matter? Yes. Do I believe this is going to get louder? Yes. Do I believe it should? Yes."
Gaga also honored the black contributors to the music industry that go unrecognized, acknowledging that at its core, "all music is black music."
Billboard released a series of artistic photos as a sneak peak of the magazine coming out soon honoring the Star is Born lead on Thursday.
