At the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards, which aired last night, Zendaya made history as the youngest ever recipient of Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series. She is also only the second black recipient of the award.
Zendaya was nominated for her performance playing the leading role in HBO's standout show Euphoria. The show, which is a huge hit among teens and young adults, pushes the boundaries of television, taking on heavy topics with innovative artistic design.
This is the first Emmy Award won by the 24-year-old actress who proudly posted the moment to Instagram, captioned:
"Still don't really have any words....feeling so much love right now, thank you."
She accepted the award virtually from home in a custom Giorgio Armani gown.
Though she began the night wearing this show-stopping dress by designer Christopher John Rogers.
Euphoria is currently in production for season two, and fans are highly anticipating its release in 2021.
Congratulations to Zendaya!
