Taylor Swift is lending her talent to the big screen.

Earlier today, the trailer dropped for "Where the Crawdads Sing," a film produced by Reese Witherspoon and her company, and inspired by the novel of the same name. In the background, Swift's newest song "Carolina" can be heard as accompaniment.

Swift announced it in an Instagram post of the trailer, captioned,

"Where The Crawdads Sing is a book, I got absolutely lost in when I read it years ago. As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side. I wrote the song ‘Carolina' alone and asked my friend @aarondessner to produce it. I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story."

The movie stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Harris Dickinson, Taylor John Smith and David Strathairn. As for the story, the novel of the same name "tells the story of Kya, an abandoned girl who raised herself to adulthood in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina." The bio elaborates,

"For years, rumors of the ‘Marsh Girl' haunted Barkley Cove, isolating the sharp and resilient Kya from her community. Drawn to two young men from town, Kya opens herself to a new and startling world; but when one of them is found dead, she is immediately cast by the community as the main suspect."

The movie's press release continues,

"As the case unfolds the verdict as to what actually happened becomes increasingly unclear, threatening to reveal the many secrets that lay within the marsh."
