Quentin Tarantino is known for speaking his mind. Now, he's giving some well deserved praise to one of the best films in recent memory.
In an interview with Premier (via The Playlist), Tarantino makes his feelings known for the best movie of the last decade, saying:
"It's The Social Network...It is number one because it's the best, that's all! It crushes all the competition."
Known for his groundbreaking movies such as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs (among many others), Tarantino is more than qualified to give opinions on what makes a great motion picture. His background of working in a video store along with an almost encyclopedic knowledge of cinema allow him the ability to call upon and recollect movie scenes and actors with ease.
The Aaron Sorkin and David Fincher 2010 drama about the creation of Facebook was the talk of the town when it came out. The Social Network took home multiple Oscars in addition to Golden Globes wins for Best Director, Screenplay, and Original Score. Tarantino also voiced that he considers Aaron Sorkin as one of the greatest minds working today, saying that Sorkin is "the greatest active dialogist." That is a huge nod from a director who is famous for the dialog in his films. Maybe we will see a collaboration in the future from these two?
The Social Network is now streaming on Netflix for those who would like to see what all the fuss is about. Tarantino also put the 2017 film Dunkirk as his number two pick for best movie of the decade.
