The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood director has long said that he plans to retire after he makes ten films.

Quentin Tarantino told Bill Maher in an interview last weekend that he is still going to retire after his next movie. Fans and the community have been hoping for the director to have a change of heart after so many of his movies have become cult classics and simply beloved films.

The director/screenwriter has been making movies for over three decades and for some reason he has always decided that ten is his magic number for exiting the industry.

In his interview with Bill Maher the host kept pushing Tarantino on his idea of "quitting while you're still ahead".

"You're too young to quit and you're at the top of your game, why... how do you know it's the time?"
"You'll be bored, you're going to want to do it. Really! It's a waste."

Maher comically pushes Tarantino to question this logic and there are a couple funny moments in the interview where the two are seriously considering both viewpoints and are still just disagreeing.

It will be sad to see Tarantino stop at what seems like the height of his career, but the films he has created so far have been unbelievable with tons of awards, critical acclaim, love from audiences, etc.
