Robert De Niro is known to be one of the greatest actors of our time.
De Niro has worked with some of Hollywood's best directors including Martin Scorsese, David O'Russell and Todd Phillips and starred in films like Jackie Brown, Casino, The Irishman, A Bronx Tale and many other audience favorites. Over the course of his career, De Niro has won two Academy Awards and received the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2011 Golden Globes. Back in 2002 the Tribeca Film Festival was co-founded by De Niro. To celebrate his success and birthday, we are looking back at some of his greatest performances.

Taxi Driver
Taxi Driver marks the first De Niro-Scorsese collaboration, as De Niro plays Travis Bickle, an emotionally deranged veteran driving a NYC taxi cab. Knowing the city is deteriorating and the streets are filled with violent crimes, Bickle is a loner and unhappy growing detached and more resentful with life as he struggles to connect with the acquaintances around him.
