The Bridgerton season two trailer just dropped, and the competition for love is in full swing!
The hit historical drama series, produced by Shonda Rhimes, is returning to Netflix, and it looks even steamier than season one.
The new trailer, which dropped Wednesday March 9, introduces newcomer Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and her younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran). The pair arrive in London just in time to win the heart of the most eligible bachelor around, Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey).
While Anthony may be offering his hand in marriage, the same can not be said of his heart. Anthony declares he will only marry for the sake of his family.
In the trailer Anthony's mother is seen confronting him on the matter saying,
"After your father died a wall went up inside you as if love had become some weakness instead of your greatest strength."
As Anthony begins to court Edwina, he must win the approval of her older sister Kate first. The two grow close and form an intense connection. Anthony soon realizes he can not fight his feelings for Kate and a love triangle ensues, leaving him in conflict between his head and his heart.
And of course, all of the drama is being chronicled by our favorite gossip reporter Lady Whistledown, voiced by Julie Andrews, and the identity of whom the Queen of England is still on a mission to uncover in the latest season.
"What happens when duty is in conflict with the heart?" asks Lady Whistledown in the trailer.
Find out on March 25, when season two of Bridgerton is released on Netflix.
