There are few things I enjoy more on a Sunday than starting my day watching Giada on Food Network and ending my day watching a new Hallmark movie. Now, thanks to the new film: Always Amore we get the best of both worlds together!
Always Amore - Sunday April 3rd on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries
The movie tells the story, of Autumn Reeser's character, Elizabeth, who is still grieving the death of her husband. She has to juggle that grief along with being a mom (to a grieving daughter) and a restauranteur...trying to keep her husband's Italian eatery going despite a drop in business.
Enter Tyler Hynes. He plays a restaurant consultant, hired by one of the investors to help Autumn turn things around and get their trattoria cooking again!
Autumn shared with me, what it was that attracted her to this role, after already starring in 3 Hallmark movies just this year (the Wedding Veil trilogy with Lacey Chabert and Alison Sweeney).
"I was really drawn to playing a woman in the middle of her healing journey. She's not ready to let go of her marriage. But she's learning how to live in the present moment. Learning to release the past and move on. And learning that she still deserves happiness. And she still deserves love. And she doesn't just have to carry all the responsibility on her shoulders. And I think that's a journey that a lot of women will relate to."
In addition to the moving storyline, the film is also full of delicious dishes! And you know they nailed that authentic Italian cuisine thanks to the Executive Producer of the project; Giada De Laurentiis. Giada and her family are no strangers to the world of moviemaking. Her late grandfather, Dino, was an Oscar winning filmmaker.
As Tyler Hynes told me:
"To have obviously someone of her caliber overseeing the authenticity of the restaurant and the food and some of the dynamics covered in this movie was obviously a step in the right direction. And [I feel] very lucky to be a part of something like that and have someone like that engage with us on this film. So yeah, very lucky, very grateful that she gave us the opportunity to be a part of it. And she couldn't be a more lovely human being. So that's icing on the cake."
Tyler and Autumn are two Hallmark veterans starring in multiple movies over the years. And while Tyler gets a lot of fan feedback about his physical appearance (see his hilarious comments at the top of this page), Autumn told me viewers reach out to her for a different reason:
"I think of these movies as medicine for people. That's the main thing I hear about. People tell me this got me through one of the most difficult times in my life or got me through this period of Covid that I didn't know that I was gonna make it through. And so I feel really lucky to be a part of bringing light into the world in that way."
So, come for a sweet new story. Stay for the Giada certified food (and co-star and Oscar-nominee Patty McCormack) and remember when it comes Hallmark love stories...there's Always Amore!
