This breaking announcement affects over 45,000 jobs worldwide.

It's been seven months since the Coronavirus shut down began and things are still looking rough for movie theaters across the globe. Today, Regal and Cineworld movie theaters announced they will remain closed indefinitely.

The announcement comes after many highly anticipated films have yet again pushed back release dates. The newest James Bond film, No Time To Die, will now be released in April of 2021. Marvel's Black Widow has also been pushed back to a 2021 release date.

Setbacks like these are detrimental to the theater business, as they are relying on box office hits to drive customers into theaters. Some chains across the U.S. have reopened with limited seating and showings to accommodate social distancing. Cineworld has confirmed it will not reopen any of its 536 U.S. or 127 UK locations.

This closure is set to remain until the company sees the need for showings of new big ticket films.

Regal and Cineworld employs over 45,000 employees worldwide.
