In a world where being virtual is becoming the new normal, the Emmys are taking a big step in presenting the full ceremony in an online format.
A (Big) Change Is Going To Come
Don’t mind us. We’re just reliving some of yesterday’s #EmmyNoms excitement! Kicking off with the #Emmy nominees for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series: @1capplegate, @RachelBros, @lindacardellini, Catherine O’Hara, @issarae, and @traceeellisross. pic.twitter.com/lHdOfm9aBR

The nominees and host Jimmy Kimmel were notified via a letter that the ceremony would be taking a complete 180, saying:
"As you've probably guessed, we're not going to be asking you to come to the Microsoft Theatre in downtown LA on September 20th. This year, it's still going to be TV industry's biggest night out… but we'll come to you! We are assembling a top notch team of technicians, producers and writers to work closely with Jimmy Kimmel and with you and your team, to make sure that we can film with you (and loved ones or whomever else you choose to be with) at your home, or another location of your choice. We're going to make you look fabulous – we're exploring the cutting edge of technology to allow to use good cameras and lighting and look forward to working with you to produce your unique 'on screen" moments."
It was noted that the television's producers are still working out the kinks of this year's ceremony, saying in a statement:
"As ABC and the Television Academy continue to formulate plans for the Emmys telecast, producers have taken the proactive step of reaching out to some nominees now to inform them of our intent to deliver a live show that is both celebratory and safe. We look forward to sharing information with you in the weeks ahead, as we solidify our plans for TV's biggest night."
A Change Will Do The Emmys Good
No in person ceremony? No problem!
The complete 180 didn't stop the beloved event from sharing their excitement about the nominees, even with some controversy in the mix. The nominees may have to do some preparation and improvisation to gear themselves up for the big night, but we wish all the nominees to break a leg (not really though, we wish them the best of luck!) and are excited to see who comes out on top!
