72nd Emmy Awards - September 20th on ABC
This year's nominations were shared virtually just like the winners will be on September 20th.
Adding More Diversity to the Emmys
The TV Academy also responding to calls for more diversity, tapping Hollywood veteran Reginald Hudlin to be the first black producer of an Emmy ceremony.
Governor's Award to Tyler Perry
This year, the Academy is bestowing its prestigious 'Governor's Award' on the legendary producer/writer/director Tyler Perry.
Jimmy Kimmel Hosting
Jimmy Kimmel is returning to once again host this year's Emmy ceremony. In a letter sent to nominees, Jimmy wrote:
"...It's still television's highest honor, and we never want to lose the significance of being nominated for, and maybe winning, an Emmy, but we're going to do in a way that is appropriate to the moment…"
