How do you host a show, without an audience? Jimmy Kimmel will find out this Sunday. He'll be inside an empty Staples Center in Los Angeles hosting the Emmy Awards. Empty, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. So how will the show work?
The producers will have cameras in 114 locations around the world. Stars will be presenting and accepting trophies from their homes or wherever they happen to be this weekend.
They asked me to host the Emmys well before the pandemic occurred and it seemed like it would fun at the time. But now it seems like it's going to be less fun.
