Lamorne Morris Is "Woke" In New Comedy Series
In the new Hulu Original series Woke, Morris stars as Keef, a Black cartoonist about to break into popularity and mainstream success. When he has a rough encounter with the police, Keef starts seeing things differently, or as his friends would call it, he's become woke. Now that he sees the world differently, Keef has to adjust accordingly while still finding a way to keep his cartoon career on the right path.
Starring alongside Morris will be SNLalum, Sasheer Zamata, T. Murph, and Blake Anderson. Developing this series next to showrunner Jay Dyer will be Ayesha Carr, Richie Schwartz, Maurice "Mo" Marable, John Will, Eric Christian Olsen, and Will Gluck. Serving as an executive producer on the pilot episode will be Katie Schumaecker.
The first 8-episode season of Woke will premiere exclusively on Hulu on September 9.
