Hulu's The Great, a comedy drama starring Elle Fanning as Catherine the Great and Nicholas Hoult as Peter III is returning for a second season. The series loosely based on Catherine the Great's journey will return for a 10-episode season in 2021.
The Greatest News
The announcement comes two months after the debut of the first season. The satirical drama shows the rise of Catherine the Great from outsider to the longest-reigning female ruler in Russia's history.
Nicholas Hoult plays Russian Emperor Peter III, who is extremely narcissistic and marries Catherine. Catherine learns that if Peter is killed, she can claim the throne to herself.
The series was created by Tony McNamara, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Fanning.

The first season ended on a cliffhanger following Catherine's 20th birthday. There's still plenty of time to binge the series before the new season arrives in 2021.
