The iconic action packed racing film series starring Vin Diesel released its 10th edition to the series this weekend to a whopping $30 million in one day. As of June 28th, the film has grossed $292.5 million total. This is a record turnout since the pandemic, and is proof that the movie business is far from dead and that moviegoers are eager to get back to theaters.
The release date for Universal Picture's F9 was delayed to COVID, originally set for memorial day weekend 2021. However, this choice certainly didn't seem to negatively impact the sales, as F9 even beat out pre-covid's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. F9 currently holds a 59% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Meanwhile, A Quiet Place Part II is still going strong with its numbers, at $136 million total. With a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, it is proving to be a fan and critic favorite.
Trailing behind in third place is the action-comedy The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, starring Salma Hayek, Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson, grossing $25.8 million.
