Oops she did it again! Now that Britney Spears is almost free from the abusive conservatorship that controlled her life and expenses since 2008, let's revisit some of the most iconic live performances of the singer.

Baby One More Time 1999 MTV

How can we forget 1999's MTV performance where Britney showcased her promising dancing abilities in front of the entire world? "Baby One More Time" established Spears as pop princess. A school bell rang in the middle of the performance, but Spears came back stronger than ever with a synchronized choreography.

Oops!... I Did It Again/Satisfaction 2000 MTV VMAs

And a year later, Spears kept going strong with her live performances. Britney began with a black hat and a medley of "Satisfaction" along with her hit "Oops!... I Did It Again." And yes, she did. The performance met some controversy for her sensual moves that completely separated her from the perception the public had of her at the time.

Michael Jackson ft. Britney Spears - The Way You Make Me Feel (MSG 30th Anniversary)

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Michael Jackson's career, Spears had the opportunity of a lifetime: performing with the King of pop. The two had done coordinated moves while singing "The Way You Make Me Feel" as the audience was in complete synch with the two stars on stage. This performance was further evidence that Spears was much more than a pop princess: she was starting to interacting with big stars that truly believed in her.

Britney Spears - Stronger (AMA 2001) 4K

At the 2001 AMAs Spears hosted and performed her empowering single "Stronger" from her second album. The scenography was absolutely stunning as a guitarist with crazy white hair accompanied Spears. Some might argue that the dancers could overshadow Spears, but that's exactly the opposite of what happened. All eyes remained glued on the singer, who demonstrated incredible confidence in her abilities.

"Slave 4 U" is probably one of the most iconic live performances of Spears. She performed it at MTV 2001 VMAs with a hot atmosphere. This time, Spears was not only accompanied by her dancers... A live giant python and a caged tiger were present on stage as Spears got closer to the crowd. The python specifically became a fashion accessory for Spears throughout the performance. The singer proved to have steady nerves like no one else in the music industry.

I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman AMAs 2002

But Spears is not only known for her dancing performances. "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" showcases Spears' intimate fear of growing up in finding her own identity. The singer has been labeled various times as the "lip sync queen," but at the AMAs she proved all her critics wrong. Spears sang live with raw emotions, a piano and a few choristers accompanying her. In the background on a giant screen, the audience could also see clips of Spears' music video for the single.

Madonna, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera & Missy Eliot - Like A Virgin/Hollywood/Work It (VMA 2003) 4K

If you thought Michael Jackson was the only star that wanted to share the stage with Spears, you're definitely wrong. Madonna and Christina Aguilera performed with the singer at the 2003 VMAs "Like A Virgin", "Hollywood" and "Work It." Their entrance were all iconic with Spears and Aguilera dressed as brides and Madonna as the groom. The three later shared a kiss as Missy Eliot continued with her performance.

Britney Spears - Toxic In The Zone 2004

In order to promote her fourth album "In The Zone," Spears delivered a live performance on ABC of her song Toxic. Thanks to the addictive single, Spears won her first prestigious Grammy Award. Throughout the performance, Spears danced with the same strength and power she had already demonstrated by that point. As she arrived at the centre of the stage, however, the audience couldn't help but smile and dance at the same rhythm of the song.

Britney Spears - Megamix (Live from the 2016 Billboard Music Awards)

Finally, a most recent live performance is 2016's Billboard Music Awards, where the singer performed a medley of all her hits. After all those years, Spears still demonstrated an incredible control of movement and energy with the dancers. It's hard to believe that someone that danced a synchronized choreography for 7 minutes straight with no breaks was under a controlling conservatorship.

In the recent Hulu documentary Controlling Britney Spears, the singer can be heard saying "I wasn't good -- I was great." And yes, she is indeed great still to this day. If you want to know more about her controversial conservatorship you can watch the Hulu documentary or the Netflix's movie Britney vs. Spears.
