2021 American Music Awards Nominees Announced

2021 American Music Awards

The 2021 American Music Awards are almost here. Here are the nominees for this year's big categories.

Olivia Rodrigo has become a real pop phenomenon. The "Driver's License" singer makes her AMAs debut with seven nominations, including Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year.

Following the success of her debut album "Sour," Rodrigo has captured everyone's attention with her vulnerable songwriting. She has recently appeared on the cover of Vogue and Rolling Stone, right next to Alanis Morissette.

But that's not all...

Five-time AMA winner The Weeknd earned six nominations this year. The superstar will face Olivia Rodrigo for the Artist of the Year award category, as well as Favorite Music Video and Favorite Pop Song.

The Weeknd has also recently released a new song and music video titled "Moth To A Flame" that won fans' hearts.

Artists that earned five nominations are Bad Bunny, Doja Cat and Giveon. Bad Bunny dominates in all the Latin categories with Favorite Latin Album. Doja Cat, on the other hand, is in the Favorite Female R&B Artist and Favorite R&B Album categories.

First time nominee Giveon has also received multiple nominations for his debut, including New Artist of the Year, Favorite Male R&B Artist and Collaboration of the Year for his hit song "Peaches," featuring Justin Bieber.

Finally, these are the artists that battle for perhaps the most important award of the night, Artist of the Year:

• Ariana Grande

• BTS

• Drake

• Olivia Rodrigo

• Taylor Swift

• The Weeknd

At the moment, Taylor Swift maintains the crown for most wins in this category with six wins, and holds the record for most AMAs wins of all time: 32.

But new categories have also been added to this year's AMAs such as Favorite Trending Song, with nominees from Tik Tok's viral songs, Favorite Gospel Artist and Favorite Latin Duo or Group.

You can vote now until November 16th and subsequently tune in on November 21st for the 2021 American Music Awards.
