In her Instagram caption promoting the new song, Beyoncé made sure to tells fan what it is all about. She shared:
"'Black Parade' celebrates you, your voice and your joy and will benefit Black-owned small businesses."
Beyonce chose to release the song at this specific time due to the Juneteenth parades being cancelled because of COVID-19. In the midst of so many protests and powerful movements over police brutality and social justice, the song could not have come out at a better time.
