Adjusting The Season

Terry Crews revealed in an interview to Access about the setup of season eight, saying:

"We've had a lot of somber talks about it and deep conversations and we hope through this we're going to make something that will be truly groundbreaking this year. We have an opportunity and we plan to use it in the best way possible. Our showrunner Dan Goor, they had four episodes all ready to go and they just threw them in the trash. We have to start over. Right now we don't know which direction it's going to go in."

The America's Got Talent host believes people are beginning to see the issues the black community faces everyday, saying:

"We always knew this was happening, but now, white people are understanding."

Helping Out With The Black Lives Matter Movement

The reworking of the season comes after the Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast and crew donated $10,000 to the National Bail Fund Network in an alliance with protestors. The donation came after pleads on social media surrounding actors who have played cops on television to donate to organizations in solidarity with protestors, hoping that their performances will change viewers' perspectives about the future of law enforcement.

Terry explains his viewpoint about the #BlackLivesMatter movement with Access, saying:

"This is an opportunity right now for us all to unite and get together and understand what this is and that we have to battle this together."
