Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo are legends in their own right, but now they're reimagining classic songs from one of the biggest bands of all time.
Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo broke boundaries in The Fifth Dimension, so the two are celebrating more than half a century of marriage with their new release, Blackbird: Lennon-McCartney Icons.
The new album celebrates the music of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, along with the profound meaning behind the song "Blackbird."
"Back in the late '60s when John and Paul first wrote the song, it was during a time of protest, and right now we're in the midst of a protest. We're in the midst of trying to help people to understand that we should be together," McCoo said.
"It feels good because we're artists and we enjoy making music," Davis Jr. said.
"At this time in our lives, at our age, it's exciting to think that people still want to hear us." McCoo said.
