Netflix has acquired the rights to six classic Black-led series from the 90s and 2000s to binge once again!
As part of their initiative to bring more diverse content to the platform and support the Black Lives Matter movement, Netflix is granting requests to include famous black-led comedies to the site for all to enjoy!
Netflix's @StrongBlackLead shared the news about the fan-favorites coming to the streaming platform with a star-studded video of cast members sharing their excitement and gratitude!
Here are all of the shows coming to Netflix and when!
Moesha - August 1st
Moesha first premiered in 1996 and features singer/actress Brandy as Moesha Mithcell- a teenager juggling school, relationships, and keeping her family together.
The Game (Seasons 1-3)- August 15
The Game follows pro-footballers and their wives as they sharpen their skills on and off the field. It stars Tia Mowry and Hosea Chanchez.
Sister Sister - September 1
Never knew how much I missed ya! Sister Sister can be binged once again as viewers follow twins Tia and Tamera Mowry as they reunite and grow close after being separated at birth.
Girlfriends - September 11
Girlfriends follows Joan (Tracee Ellis Ross), Maya (Golden Brooks), Lynn (Persia White) and Toni (Jill Marie Jones) as they rely on each other through life's difficulties, using their differences to make them stronger.
The Parkers - October 1
The Parkers aired in 1999 and follows Countess Vaughn as Kim who has to adjust to her mother deciding to go back to school at the same junior college as her.
Half & Half - October 15
Another pair of siblings reuniting - Mona (Rachel True) and Dee Dee (Essence Atkins) are half-sisters who find themselves living next door to each other in San Francisco.
One on One - Oct 15
One on One follows a single dad who suddenly becomes a full time parent to daughter, Breanna, who upturns his bachelor and free-spirited lifestyle.
