SNL Will Make Its Grand Return To Studio 8H Tomorrow

Saturday Night Live is back in the studio for the first time since March and Sonia Isabelle is dishing all about the return.

The SNL cast is back in studio 8H at 30 Rockefeller Plaza this Saturday, October 3rd. After their last live, in-studio show in March the cast switched to doing skits at home and SNL was renamed to Saturday Night Live At Home. The cast either did skits alone, filmed in their homes by themselves or did Zoom skits with their fellow cast-mates.

Now the show is returning to an in-person show with a live audience. Chris Rock will be hosting and Megan Thee Stallion will perform.

In a post to their Instagram, we see how reading through the script was handled for the upcoming episode. All cast and staff were wearing masks and spread throughout the studio.

Cast member Alex Moffat said, "We don't just want to have like live laughs and so we're going to, you know, put ourselves in danger. I mean, you know, we're trying to do it as safely as possible but it's great, I'm very excited to see how it works."

SNL is introducing three new cast members in Saturday's show, Andrew Dismukes, Lauren Holt and Punkie Johnson. Dismukes has previously written for the show and been in a bunch of the skits. Holt and Johnson will be brand new to the show.

Colin Jost, writer and co-anchor of the "Weekend Update" and who is also engaged to Scarlett Johansson, was reportedly thinking about leaving the show but has decided to return this season. He told SiriusXM:

"The COVID stuff has really affected how I feel about it because, you know, being away from people that make you laugh, you know, at work in that way for this long really makes you appreciative." He has decided to stay on for at least one more season.

Cast member Pete Davidson was also thinking about leaving the show due to some conflicts with other cast members but has since decided to stay.

Our own Sonia Isabelle spoke with Us Weekly's Christina Garibaldi about the almost departure of these two cast members. When speaking about Jost and Johansson she said:

"Sonia, these two are still going strong after getting engaged in May of 2019 and while she recently said no comment when asked about the wedding date we think that babies may be on the brain for Colin. In his 2020 memoir he wrote that he would love to be raising a baby right now and he's definitely getting some practice with Scarlett's daughter, who we hear is absolutely obsessed with him and that he loves playing with her and he is definitely a great father figure."

On Pete Davidson, she shared:

"Now we don't know exactly why he wanted to return but maybe during his time off he got some clarity and the help he needed. His best friend Machine Gun Kelly recently opened up about getting Pete a bed at a rehab facility in Malibu."

SNL is famous for their parodies of politics and this season, during election time, will be something to watch. Jim Carrey will be playing Joe Biden, Maya Rudolph will return as Kamala Harris and Alec Baldwin will return as Donald Trump. Viewers can definitely expect a lot of political humor.

Don't miss Saturday Night Live this Saturday, October 3rd at 12 a.m. ET/11 p.m. CT.
