Queen Bees centers on the adventures of independent senior Helen, played by Academy Award-winning actress Ellen Burstyn, who moves into a nearby retirement community. Once moved in, Helen is shocked to see the mean-girl trope brought to life by the other women at her new retirement home.

Directed by Michael Lembeck and featuring an all-star cast with seasoned talent, Queen Bees has received positive praise from critics for its fun story.

Renowned actress Ellen Burstyn stars as Helen. Burstyn won an Academy Award for her role in Martin Scorsese's 1975 film Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. Since then, Burstyn has gone on to receive many nominations and awards, including a Tony and an Emmy. She is one of the few performers to win the "Triple Crown of Acting."

Taking on a more light-hearted role, Burstyn shared with us why she loved making Queen Bees.

"We were at a real place. That was a real retirement home, and those people were getting it on! They were having a good time."

Playing one of the mean girls herself, Burstyn's co-star in the film, Ann-Margret felt the same way about making the film, telling us:

"We just got into funny conversations, and of course, [co-star] Christopher Lloyd is really funny."

Celebrated actress and co-star Loretta Devine also shared her take on what makes Queen Bees so special:

"The movie is just so moving and touching. What I like most about it is that it gave you a good and warm feeling about just being alive. I think that's what everybody needs."
