On February 14, 2018, a gunman opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, killing 17 people and injuring 17 others. Over two years later in a special virtual experience, Emmy-winning filmmaker Cheryl McDonough is highlighting the students of Parkland who refused to be silenced.
From Abramorama and Gigantic! Productions, Parkland Rising will be livestreamed tonight at 8 p.m. EST followed by a panel discussion led by Katie Couric and featuring will.i.am, Manuel Oliver, Greg Kahn, Horner McDonough and Manju Bangalore.

The film will be streaming simultaneously from the Facebook and YouTube pages of Parkland Rising, Katie Couric, willi.i.am, Pearl Jam and the Black Eyed Peas. More information and the chance to RSVP to the live screening can be found on the documentary's website.
The screening will also have an encore screening on June 5 at 7 p.m. EST to celebrate Wear Orange Weekend, which benefits the fight against gun violence. This will also be followed by a panel discussion hosted by Meghna Chakrabarti and featuring Jaclyn Corin, Rebecca Boldrick Hogg, Kevin Hogg, Jammal Lemy, Oliver, Patricia Padauy-Oliver and John E. Rosenthal.
As the fight against violence of all forms continues, films like Parkland Rising allow viewers to look back at the past and plan for a future of change and reform.
