Oscars Announce Multiple Venues for 2021 Ceremony

Oscars

The biggest award show in Hollywood will take place April 25th, live on ABC from multiple locations aside from the original Dolby Theater venue.

The Academy Awards have announced a COVID safe approach to the biggest night in Hollywood. In addition to the Dolby Theater, the show will broadcast from several other currently undisclosed locations.

"To create the in-person show our global audience wants to see while adapting to the requirements of the pandemic, the ceremony will broadcast live from multiple locations, including the landmark Dolby Theatre. We look forward to sharing more details soon" the Academy announced today in a statement.

The eligibility period of films has been extended from December to February as well.

Not New to Delays

While the venue has been delayed to April 25th on ABC, this isn't the first time the Academy has been forced to delay their proceedings. The first was in 1938 due to flooding in LA, and the assassination of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. and the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan caused the other delays.

Regardless of where it's shot, the Academy is going to every length to ensure we have a productive and fun filled COVID Oscars!
