Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Award winner Cynthia Erivo is set to star in Universal's brand-new series Talent Show.
Talent Show, directed by Gandja Monteiro, is the story of a failed songwriter who returns to Chicago to become a leader of a group of at-risk children to guide them through their annual talent show. The series has no set date for production yet, but we have high hopes that the series will be spectacular. The show is produced by Emmy Award winner Lena Waithe.
Erivo is best known for her work in the revival of The Color Purple on Broadway, which earned her a Tony for Best Actress and a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. You may also know her from the massive hit Harriet, where she received Oscar nominations for Best Actress and Best Original Song, and her numerous acclaimed TV series and films.
