Months ago, rumors circulated that Rooney Mara may be expecting with fiancée Joaquin Phoenix. Only now has it been confirmed that this Hollywood couple were in fact expecting and have already brought home a baby boy.

The two actors are extremely notable in the film industry. Joaquin Phoenix won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in Jokerwhile Rooney Mara starred in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and has multiple Oscar nominations as well.

The pair did not confirm any news of a baby earlier this year, though it was confirmed by filmmaker Victor Kossakovsky whose new documentary had been executive produced by Phoenix. At a recent screening of their film Gunda, Kossakovsky explained Phoenix's absence was due to the baby.

He then went on to say the couple named that baby boy River to honor Joaquin Phoenix's late brother. River Phoenix was also an actor earning multiple Oscar nominations before passing from an overdose in 1993.
