Olivia Rodrigo has positively shocked everyone with her huge hit "Driving License," which has remained on top of the charts for weeks. Now, the singer announces the date of her debut album, along with a brand new single.

Releasing a song after a huge hit is never easy, but Rodrigo did not disappoint. "Deja Vu" is nothing like "Driver's License" and yet possesses the same elements that made us fall in love with Rodrigo's music.
In "Deja Vu", Rodrigo is telling her ex-lover that all the things he's now doing with his new flame, well... They did it first.
"That was our place, I found it first, I made the jokes you tell to her when she's with you."
Ending the chorus with:
"Do you get Deja Vu?"
The music video is parallel to the intricate meaning of the song. Rodrigo spies on the girl that now dresses and acts the same way that she did.

Rodrigo sees her double on various videotapes and the two constantly switch back and forth, creating a feeling where the viewer can't know which one started doing certain activities first.
But as the music video progresses, Rodrigo gets tired of this narrative. She takes a hammer and breaks every single screen is in front of her....

.... Except one.
The end of the music video is a reenactment of the very first scene we see: Rodrigo driving in the car, eating ice-cream. But this time, it's her double the one we're seeing. Rodrigo has officially been replaced.
'Deja Vu' is the perfect mixture of Taylor Swift's storytelling and Lorde's productions. After the release of the new single, Rodrigo announced that her official debut album is going to be released May 21st.
While we still have to wait for the debut album, we now know a powerful truth: Rodrigo is not going to disappoint.
