Marvel Studios is turning its focus to a new superhero with a familiar face: Loki. Rather than a major motion picture, Loki is an upcoming television series staring Tom Hiddleston which debuts tomorrow on Disney+.

Although Hiddleston auditioned for Thor and lost the role to Chris Hemsworth, the British actor is finally the main character in Marvel's upcoming television series Loki. The first episode of the series is scheduled to appear tomorrow, June 9th, 2021, on Disney+. Episodes will be released weekly on the streaming platform as part of a developing number of limited series centered on supporting characters from the MCU films.

What Fans Can Expect

The new series will take place after the events of Avengers Endgame(2019) in which Loki steals the time altering Tesseract. An alternate version of Loki is brought to the Time Variance Authority, an organization that monitors the timeline and rightful order of historical events. The television series will showcase how Loki handles to these events and the consequences or benefits of his actions.

To fans delight, Hiddleston will be reprising his role as Loki, a character which he has played several times before in past Marvel films. However of one the most exciting add-ons of the the new series is the casting and introduction of Owen Wilson. Wilson will star along side Hiddleston's Loki, as Mobius M. Mobius, a Time Variance Authority(TVA) agent who investigates particularly dangerous time criminals. Black Mirror and Concussion star Gugu Mbatha-Raw will also be featured in the upcoming series as a member of TVA as she oversees the Loki variant investigation.

The series will have six episodes spread out across six weeks. The show premieres June 8th on Disney+.
