Discussion on Their Children's Skin Color

The biggest revelation from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah was the treatment of their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor by the Royal Family.

Markle revealed the "institution" did not want to title Archie a prince, leading Oprah to ask the question,

"Do you think it's because of his race?"

Markle answered with the shocking statement,

"In those months when I was pregnant, all around the same time, so we have in tandem the conversation of he won't be given security, he's not going to be given a title, and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he's born."

Like all of us, Oprah is utterly shocked and brings the conversation up to Prince Harry after he joins the interview. The duke reveals that the conversations were not with his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II nor his grandfather Prince Philip, however he will never reveal who incited the racist statement.

Impact on Markle's Mental Health

During her one-on-one with Oprah, Markle revealed her mental health got to such a low point during her time with the Royal Family, she couldn't be left alone.

"I just didn't want to be alive anymore."

When the Duchess approached the family, seeking professional help, she was denied and told it wasn't a good image.

"I know personally how hard it is to not just voice it, but when you voice it to be told no."

Relationship Between Harry and the Royal Family

When asked about his relationship with his family, the prince revealed his father Prince Charles has stopped taking his calls after a certain point. Oprah asks the duke why he believe this is and he shared,

"Because by that point I took matters into my own hands."

Prince Harry also revealed that there is a distance between him and his brother Prince William.

Baby Girl on the Way

While majority of the 90 minute conversation is disheartening, there was one joyous revelation: the family is having a baby girl! Meghan and Harry are expecting their second child this summer and state that this is definitely the last child for them, their family is now complete.
