On June 17th, 2000, Disney Channel premiered the comedy series Even Stevens.
The show was centered around the Stevens family and two younger siblings, Ren and Louis who have opposing and conflicting personalities. The series went on for three seasons with a total of 65 episodes. In honor of the 20th Anniversary, we're taking a look to see where the cast is today.
Shia LaBeouf
Shia LaBeouf starred in the leading role as Louis Stevens who constantly got in trouble by coming up with pranks and schemes to torment his older sister Ren.
LaBeouf grew up to become a household name, starring in many leading and supporting roles in films like Disturbia, the Transformers franchise, Fury, and American Honey. However, LaBeouf suffered from mental health issues and struggled with alcohol, often getting him in trouble with the law but eventually went to rehab. In 2019 he starred and wrote the film Honey Boy, a film based on his childhood and relationship with his father. LaBeouf has also appeared in different music videos and art projects.
Christy Carlson Romano
Christy Carlson Romano starred as the perfectionist middle sister Ren Stevens. When Ren wasn't stressing over Louis' pesky schemes, she was busy being class president, hall monitor, and editor of the school yearbook and paper.
Romano has been hard at work with her career since the series. She is known for her leading role as Kim in the animated series Kim Possible and starred in Disney Channel movies like Cadet Kelly. In 2004, she released her debut album Greatest Disney TV & Film Hits. She starred on Broadway as Belle in Beauty and the Beast andin Avenue Q. She starred in two of the Cutting Edge films and various other films and television shows. Romano can now be seen on her YouTube channel hosting segments like "Christy Kitchen Throwback" and is also the voice of Trina in Big Hero 6: The Series. Romano is now married with two young daughters.
Nick Spano
Nick Spano starred as the older, popular athlete Donnie in the Stevens household.
Spano went on to appear in various shows like Angel, Monk, and Alias. He appeared in the ABC Family film Pizza My Heart. Spano went on to teach acting at the John Robert Powers Acting Agency. He also started an organization called City Farm for local produce and goods to be available to communities and opened the Re/creation Café that specializes in events, music, yoga, art, and more.
Steve Anthony Lawrence
Steve Anthony Lawrence starred as the obnoxious side-kick Beans who had a passion and love for bacon. Beans had an annoying pattern of showing up in the Stevens household, even when he wasn't welcome.
Since the show, Lawrence has appeared in various films and television shows like Cat in the Hat, Cheaper by the Dozen, andKicking and Screaming. He also has appeared in music videos for Marashmello and Phantoms. Just like Spano, Lawrence also offers acting classes teaching all ages.
A.J. Trauth
A.J. Trauth starred as Alan Twitty, Louis' best friend. A.J and Louis would often cause trouble via pranks and jokes.
Since the series wrapped, Trauth played guitar and was the lead singer of the rock band called Mavin. Trauth went on to make small appearance on various shows like 7th Heaven, House, Ghost Whisperer, and Bones. He appeared in the 2005 film Happy Endings starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. His last film appearance was Camp Cool Kids also lending his voice for the Wolfenstein video games. He is also one of the producers for the 2020 short film Creat(e)ureand is now developing other projects.
Margo Harshman
Margo Harshman starred as Tawny Dean, an outsider in the show but one of Louis' best friends and eventually his girlfriend. Tawny was often the voice of reason for the friend group.
Harshman went on to star in other films like College Road Trip, Keith, Sorority Row and had recurring appearances on other shows like Bent, The Big Bang Theory, Betas, and currently can be seen on NCIS as Delilah Fielding.
Tom Virtue
Tom Virtue starred as father Steven Stevens, the zany lawyer with a soft spot for his mischief-making son Louis.
Virtue appeared in many roles since the series ended like Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Castle, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Iron Man 3, Live By Night, and Green Book.
Donna Pescow
Donna Pescow starred as Mom Eileen, State Senator and member of the House of Representatives. She was the glue that kept the family together.
Since the series ended, she has gone on to guest appear on The Sopranos, Cold Case, New Girl, and The Flash. She recently starredin the Christmas filmCarol of the Bells.
