The Marvel Universe is expanding and will have their first female Pakistani lead.

Disney will be turning the Ms. Marvel comics into a show for their streaming platform Disney+ and they have casted Ms. Marvel.

Ms. Marvel tells the story of Kamala Kahn, the Marvel Universe's first Muslim character. Kahn is a 16-year-old Pakistani-American living in Jersey City who is a big fan of the Avengers and gains powers of her own. She gains the ability to shape shift and extend her limbs.

Ms. Marvel will be played by newcomer Iman Vellani. She will be making her onscreen debut in Ms. Marvel.

Kahn was introduced into the Marvel comics in 2014 and the show was announced by Marvel Studio's president Kevin Feige at the D23 Expo last year, along with numerous other Marvel shows coming soon to Disney+. Feige also mentioned that Ms. Marvel will be seen in other Marvel films in the future.

More shows coming to Disney+ are WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, She Hulk and Moon Knight.

Kumail Nanjiani and Mindy Kaling both took to Twitter about the exciting news of Ms. Marvel being casted.

Kumail Nanjiani, who will be the first Pakistani superhero in the upcoming Marvel film The Eternals, tweeted his congratulations to Iman Vellani and how he is emotional over what the role will mean to representation for Muslims.

Mindy Kaling has previously proclaimed that she has read every Ms. Marvel comic and was ecstatic on Twitter about the casting of Ms. Marvel and offered her congratulations to Vellani. She also mention representation that this character and show creates.

Ms. Marvel will be written by Bisha K. Ali who has also written for Sex Education and Four Weddings and a Funeral on Hulu. The show will also have a team of directors, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys For Life), Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon (Outlander).

It is unknown when the show will be coming to the streaming platform but speculation predicts that 2022 would be the earliest we would see the Ms. Marvel.
