Actress Danica McKellar leaves Hallmark Channel and joins competitor network GAC Family.

Viewers of Hallmark Channel had now been accustomed to seeing McKellar star in Christmas movies. Since 2015, the actress has worked relentlessly to make sure audiences at home could fully feel the joy of the Christmas holidays. Some of her movies include Crown for Christmas, My Christmas Dream and Christmas She Wrote.
But now, it's time to say goodbye.
According to Deadline, McKellar has signed an exclusive deal with GAC Family that extends through 2023. Not only we'll see the actress on four brand new movies, McKellar will also executive produce them, starting from January 2022 with The Winter Palace.
Her choice to leave Hallmark Channel has been incredibly supported by GAC Family's creator Bill Abbott, who tweeted his enthusiasm with the following caption:
"@danicamckellar is a world-class talent who's among TV's most beloved and enduring stars! Her combination of creativity and passion is 2nd to none, and I am thrilled to have her join @GACFamilyTV close-knit family."
Abbott had founded GAC Family after leaving Hallmark's company Crown Media Family Networks, where he previously worked as CEO. This decision occurred in 2020, following controversy about Hallmark not airing a commercial that depicted a same-sex wedding.
Although the channel didn't go through with the idea of stopping the commercial, it was too late: Abbott decided to fly solo with his own new network.
But McKellar is not the only one that joins the GAC Family.
Lori Loughlin stars in the second season of When Hope Calls, which has been moved from Hallmark Movies Now to GAC Family. Furthermore, former Home & Family hosts, Debbie Matenopoulos and Cameron Mathison are now hosting Welcome To Great American Christmas.
Although this news will sadden many viewers of Hallmark Channel, McKellar is ready for the next adventure. You can watch her last Hallmark's Christmas movie titled You, Me And The Christmas Trees and follow her future work on GAC Family.
