In addition, many musical artists, including BTS, Green Day, Mariah Carey, Ozzy Osbourne and more have either cancelled or postponed concerts or tours. Live Nation will be postponing current touring arena shows through the end of the month. Tours affected include Billie Eilish, Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band, Cher, Kiss, Post Malone, Tool, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Chris Stapleton and others.
Major league sports has also felt the impact with 2 of the NBA's Utah Jazz players, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert testing positive. Sports Leagues that have suspended the 2020 season include:
- The NBA
- The NHL
- MLS
- Major League Baseball (Opening Day has been postponed for at least 2 weeks)
- The NCAA "March Madness" Tournament will be played without fans in attendance with many regional tournaments being cancelled
We also note that film production and Hollywood's release calendar has been affected, with films such as the latest James Bond entry No Time to Die, A Quiet Place 2, The Lovebirds, and Fast & Furious 9 being pushed rescheduled for later this year or for 2021.
Stars Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, on set in Australia, were Coronavirus tested and positively diagnosed. Currently, they are in good spirits and following protocol while being treated in a Queensland hospital.
Television shows, including The Amazing Race, The Bachelorette, and Survivor have either suspended or otherwise delayed or restricted production. Broadway shows in NYC are being suspending for a month as of 5 p.m. Thursday, March 12th.
