Being the first groundbreaking female rap group, Salt-N-Pepa's success helped pave the way for female rap today!

Laila Odom, who portrays "Pepa" in the biopic, spoke more to the group's impact:

"When you you think about where we are right now with female MCs when you have Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, of course you have my girl Nicki Minaj, like without these women, it wouldn't be the ones that we have right now. So it just makes sense to be the time to like, give them this look into their life and introduce them to the younger generation that might not even know."

Cheryl Renee James and Sandra Jacqueline Denton were also very hands-on in the making of the movie.

GG Townson, who plays "Salt," chatted about Salt-N-Pepa's direct involvement by working closely with the stars and producing the film behind-the-scenes.

"[Salt] would tell me stories of growing up in the hip hop game. Going through the script with her, she would breakdown the actual stories behind each scene. That was an amazing experience in itself to be able to have her throughout the entire process," Townson said.

Salt-N-Pepa premieres Saturday, January 23rd on Lifetime.

Getting her biopic moment next is Wendy Williams. The film is extremely revealing and doesn't back down when it comes to many of Ms. Williams' hardships and scandals.

Rob Shuter, a frequent guest of "The Wendy Williams Show" and friend of the talk show host, sat down with us for an interview. He provided insight on Wendy Williams' involvement in the movie through her role of executive producer:

"I asked Wendy how hands-on she was with this project. She told them this was her edict, that they had to tell the truth; nothing was off the table. Drugs, abuse, her background, her husband cheating, it's all in the movie. The only thing Wendy required was the truth."

Last but certainly not least is the telling of the true story about Whitney Houston and daughter Bobbi Kristina. The documentary will explore the deaths of both of these women and their issues with addiction.

Rob Shuter also shared:

"Whitney and her daughter is a tragic tale, it's almost Shakespearean. It's no surprise to me that now that this is being turned into a movie. We loved Whitney, we didn't really get to know the daughter very well; her life was cut way too short. This movie is going to give a chance to maybe grieve."
