This summer is marking the end of the talk show era as we know it.
"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" ended on May 22 and "The Wendy Williams Show" had its final episode aired on June 17. Since her show has ended, Wendy Williams is ready to start the next chapter of her life.
Williams started the show in July 2008. For nearly 14 years, she welcomed hundreds of guests and entertained millions. However, towards the end of the show, the TV personality had to take a break from hosting due to compounding side-effects of her Graves' disease, an autoimmune disorder that affects the thyroid.
She has since revealed that she also struggles with lymphedema, which is according to cancer.gov, “the buildup of fluid in soft body tissues when the lymph system is damaged or blocked.”
Retiring from the show, Williams reportedly wants to start focusing on her health. She told TMZ Live she “can only feel maybe five percent of my feet."
Along with this, the 57-year-old confirmed she is “100% retired.” As she begins her retired life, an inside source told Entertainment Tonight that Williams is ready to settle down and fall in love.
"[Wendy] is OK with everything that has happened up until this point with the show [and is] extremely happy and focused on new beginnings and being in the most amazing position in life."
Though she is done with being in the limelight, at least for now, she hinted at potentially creating a podcast. Guess we'll have to stay tuned!
