We're taking a look back on some of the biggest movies 2020 had to offer us this year.


Tenet

It was no surprise Christopher Nolan's film Tenetmade a lasting impression. The film was delayed due to the pandemic, but eventually the filmed opened in theaters with safe protocols.

Palm Springs

A film that had lots of charm and made audiences smile earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival was Palm Springs starring Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti.

Onward

Disney's Pixar released two films this year, the first one being Onward that starred Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Octavia Spencer, and Julia Louis Dreyfus taking audiences to a mystical and magical universe.

The Boys in the Band

Based on the groundbreaking 1968 play by Mart Crowley and directed by Joe Mantello this film featured an all gay cast starring Jim Parsons, Matt Bomer, Zachary Quinto, Charlie Carver, Andrew Rannells.

The Old Guard

Charlize Theron kicked butt this year starring in one of Netflix's biggest action and empowering movies, The Old Guard.

Over The Moon

Netflix released the gorgeous animated film Over The Moon that celebrates Chinese culture and was a magical journey all families could enjoy.

Project Power

Another major film Netflix released was Project Power starring the outstanding Joseph Gordon Levitt and Jamie Foxx that was a fun action thriller.

The Invisible Man

Elisabeth Moss starred in the major horror-thriller,The Invisible Man who escapes from her abusive husband and goes into hiding. Director Leigh Whannell took audiences on a compelling thrill ride.

Da 5 Bloods

Starring the late Chadwick Boseman in one of his final roles was in Spike Lee's Da 5 Bloods. The film is a story of four black veterans who return to Vietnam to track down and bring back the body of their fallen friend.

Wonder Woman 1984

Another film that was delayed due to the pandemic was Gal Gadot's returning as Wonder Woman for Wonder Woman 1984. Directed by Patty Jenkins the film was set in the 80s and had two villains Kristen Wiig as Cheetah and Pedro Pascal as Max Lord.

Extraction

Chris Hemsworth and the Russo Brothers teamed up once again for the anticipated action movie Extraction. The film is full of action directed by Sam Hargrave who is best known to be a stunt coordinator in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

Enola Holmes

Move over Sherlock Holmes! Millie Bobby Brown starred as Sherlock's younger sister Enola Holmes who is on the case about the disappearance of her mother Eudoria played by Helena Bonham Carter as Henry Cavill starred as Sherlock Holmes.

Soul

The second Pixar movie to be released Soul is currently available on Disney+. This beautiful, film stars Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey. We certainly shed a tear while watching this heartwarming movie.

The Trial of Chicago 7

Legendary screenwriter and director Aaron Sorkin released his film The Trial of the Chicago 7 that was inspired by one of the most famous trials in American history.

 The Prom

Ryan Murphy took audiences to The Promwith a musical adaption based on the Broadway musical that had audiences singing at home to the incredible dance numbers and songs.

Birds Of Prey 

A film that opened in theaters before the pandemic was Birds of Prey with Margot Robbie returning as Harley Quinn.
