Trying to experience some Halloween thrills but don't feel like going to a haunted house? We've compiled a list of this weekend's creepiest television and movie premieres to get you in the spirit!
Halloween Kills
First on our list is the latest film from the Halloween franchise, Halloween Kills. This year's thriller returns back to Laurie Strode, played by iconic actress Jamie Lee Curtis, as she and her family once again attempt to escape the terror of Michael Meyers. While Laurie is stuck recovering from her life-threatening injuries, Michael Meyers escapes from the trap she had believed she caught him in, now leaving Laurie to figure out how she and her family will finally evade Michael's wrath-- hopefully for good. In this sequel, the Strode family teams up with the remaining survivors of Michael's bloodbath, forming a mob that is more than determined to hunt him down.
Also starring in Halloween Kills is James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle as Michael Meyers, Judy Greer as Karen, and Andi Matichak as Allyson.
Halloween Kills is in theaters October 15 and is also available to stream on Peacock.
Demigod
Another eerie must-watch is the indie horror film, Demigod. The film shares the story of a woman named Robin and her husband as they travel back to her birthplace in Germany's Black Forest, following the death of her huntsman grandfather. Arriving to the forest with convoluted flashbacks to her childhood, it isn't long until Robin realizes that her grandfather left an inheritance much more morbid than she could have ever bargained for.
Demigod stars Rachel Nichols as Robin and Yohance Myles as her husband, Leo. It premieres in theaters starting October 15.
I Know What You Did Last Summer
Next on our list is the Amazon Prime reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer, a thriller series based off of the classic teen horror franchise from the 90's. The series is set on a group of teenagers one year after a fatal car accident spoiled their graduation night. Now obligated to confront the savage killer haunting them, the dark secret they are forced to keep binds them even closer as more mysteries about their their town come to light. Everyone in the group is hiding something, but it is up to them to make sure the wrong secret doesn't surface.
The cast of I Know What You Did Last Summer includes Madison Iseman, Bill Heck, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, and Ashley Moore. The first four episodes are available to stream starting October 15, followed by weekly releases of episodes until the must-watch season finale, premiering on November 12.
Monster Family 2: Nobody is Perfect
Rounding off our list on a much lighter note, Monster Family 2: Nobody is Perfect is another October premiere to gear you up for the Halloween season. In this sequel, the Wishbone family is forced to turn into some of our favorite spooky characters, Vampire, Mummy, Werewolf, and Frankenstein, in order to save The Lock Ness Monster, King Conga, and the Yeti from a dark monster hunter.
Monster Family 2 stars the voices of Emily Watson, Nick Frost, Jessica Brown Findlay, Catherine Tate, Emily Carey, and Ethan Rouse. It can be seen in theaters starting October 15.
