Another eventful night for the books.

The Academy of Country Music Awards has become the first ever award show to switch from live television broadcasting to exclusive streaming online. The two-hour showcase aired on Amazon Prime last night, and featured many highlights--as well as a few blunders.

The Academy enlisted legendary Dolly Parton to host, who was surprised by singer Kelly Clarkson performing a cover of her song, I Will Always Love You. A tad random, but it led to a heartwarming moment where the two embraced onstage, with Parton exclaiming,

“I was backstage trying not to cry my false eyelashes off!”

Parton was also one of the only artists to mention the current Russian aggression in Ukraine, saying,

“I don’t want to be political, and this is not; I’d rather pass a kidney stone than do that. But I want us to send our love and hope to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine.”

The only other artist who spoke on it was Old Dominion lead singer Matthew Ramsey, who shared it felt strange to celebrate his win when “people are fighting for their lives right now.”

Morgan Wallen, who was banned from the ceremony last year after footage of him using racial slurs surfaced, won album of the year, and thanked “everyone who has shown me grace along the way" in his acceptance speech.

The biggest award of the night, Entertainer of the Year, was accepted virtually. The winner, Miranda Lambert, is currently on tour in Europe and had to appear via video. See the full list of winners below:
