Here's What Zendaya Says She Wants to See in Euphoria Season 3

The star and executive producer of HBO's hit teen drama series has a vision for the next season — and we totally agree with her!

Zendaya has tons of ideas that she wants to see become reality in the upcoming third season of Euphoria.

The star and one of the executive producers of HBO's wild, popular teen drama series spoke with The Hollywood Reporter recently about the show's numerous Emmy nominations this television awards season (including her second nom for Lead Actress in a Drama Series, the award she won during the 2020 ceremony where she became the youngest person to ever win the title), and during their chat, she opened up about what she wants to see happen for the messy but relatable and oh-so-watchable students of East Highland High School. And that involves a time jump where our favorite characters are already past their high school days.

"I think it’ll be exciting to explore the characters out of high school," Zendaya told the publication. "I want to see what Rue looks like in her sobriety journey, how chaotic that might look. But also with all the characters, in the sense where they’re trying to figure out what to do with their lives when high school is over and what kind of people they want to be."

She continued:

"What was special about this season was that we got to dive into [the other characters] in a much deeper sense. I think we can do that again with the third season. There’s so much talent, you want to make sure everybody has the chance to have that."

And Zendaya isn't the only Euphoria cast member to feel this way!

During the opening night of this year's Outfest LGBTQ+ Film Festival in Los Angeles, first-time Emmy nominee Colman Domingo, who plays Rue's Narcotics Anonymous sponsor Ali in Euphoria, spoke to Out about what he would want to see for his character specifically in the hit HBO drama.

"I don't know what he's gonna do, but I know that Sam [Levinson] has some really big ideas about season three," he said. "I think Sam is the guy who I know, once you think you know what the show is, he's gonna pull the rug out from under you. So, I know that that's what he's interested in doing. So we'll see what happens."

"I personally hope to see more of Ali outside of Euphoria, outside of the Rue story and all that," Domingo continued. "I wanna see how he operates. What is his work life like? What is his dating life like, to get a full sense of this human being? What's his backstory like? I know that Sam gives a backstory once in a while as a little gem. So I'm waiting for Ali, because I think that'll be pretty dope."

Though no word about exactly when the highly-anticipated third season of Euphoria is set to being production and then premiere, we are hoping it won't be too long until we see Rue and the gang back on screens!

The first two seasons of Euphoria are currently streaming on HBO Max.
