1883 follows the Dutton family as they make the infamous migration through the Great Plains in search of more opportunities and a better life.
The new series stars the real-life power couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. For the two, this is the first project they have taken on screen as husband and wife.
"I think the only way to have done this series is to have been completely immersed in this world," Hill said.
Hill and McGraw are in good company! The show also stars Oscar-nominee Sam Elliott and Oscar-winner Billy Bob Thornton.
"[Fans are] in store for a wild ride for a trip on the Oregon Trail. If they like a period Western... they're in for a good one," Elliott said.
"I found out that it was Tim, and Faith, and Sam Elliot who are all old friends of mine," Thornton said.
With Yellowstone gaining so much recognition through its record-breaking ratings, the cast members of 1883 are hopeful the new series will resonate with fans.
"You got Tom Hanks, you got Faith... you think about that it's like, I'm dead in the water so I just focus on Thomas and everything else falls into place," LaMonica Garrett said.
Co-stars Eric Nelson, Gratiela Brancusi, Martin Sensmeier and Amanda Jaros touched on the series' representation, audience anticipation and key themes.
"We're depicting a Western from the 1800's and we're doing it in a way that is the least bit Hollywood glamorized in any sense of the word," Nelson said.
"I love that it speaks to the immigrant, well at the time I'd say it'd be refugee experience, which is still relevant to this day," Brancusi said.
"It's been amazing to be here... to see it come to fruition and to get to be around other people getting to see it for the first time. I'm really excited about that," Sensmeier said.
"I hope they take away this message of how important it is to band together in community and the value of relationships," Jaros said.
1883, premieres Sunday, December 19th on Paramount+ and Paramount Network.
