The prestigious Stratford Festival was joined by Shatner in 1954, when the actor was 23-years-old. He stayed there for three seasons and at such a young age had already participated in various projects.

Howdy Doody Show

Subsequently, the actor replaced James Doohan in the Howdy Doody Show Canadian Version. Doohan will later become Shatner's co-star in Star Trek: destiny's almost impossible to stop.

Perhaps one of Shatner's most remarkable roles, along with Stark Trek, is The Twilight Zone (1963), in which he played an airline passenger who is terrified because of a monster on the wing of the plane.

But we cannot avoid mentioning Shatner's first role in a movie in The Brothers Karamazov's adaptation Incubus, a horror released on 1958.

Star Trek

And the most iconic role is definitely the one in Star Trek, where Shatner captured the love of millions of fans worldwide. Star Trek's mission was intended as a five years mission, but the series was cancelled after three due to low ratings. However, Captain James Tiberius Kirk will always remain in our hearts.

Star Trek The Motion Picture & Star Trek II

During the 70s, Star Trek grew in popularity and the show was revived as a film. However, the sequel is considered by many the one that truly defined Star Trek's fandom.

Saturday Night Live

And in 1986, Shatner hosted Saturday Night Live, a dream of many -- the actor played himself at a Star Trek convention.

Tek War

Yes, Shatner is also a published writer. His first book was Tek War, released in 1989, which inspired TV series and more novels.
