Long-running daytime show Days of our Lives has finally resumed production, following a six month hiatus from COVID-19. We talked to Soap Opera Digest editorial director Stephanie Sloane for more details!
Days of our Lives is the last daytime production to return to the studio. However, before the start of the global pandemic which shut down film studios around the world, Days of our Lives had seven months worth of episodes already filmed.
Soap Opera Digest editorial director Stephanie Sloane confirmed production will look a bit different when it resumes:"Because they're going to be doing rapid testing where you can get results in fifteen minutes, we may just see some hugs and kisses onscreen."
Additionally, a familiar face will return with the show. Marcie Miller will be stepping back into the role of "Abigail." Stephanie Sloane explained:
"Marcie left the show in 2018. She says she doesn't regret the decision, but she is thrilled to be back. She loves her co-stars, she loves working with Billy Flynn who plays Chad, and she loves that she has a regular job to go to Monday through Friday."
